Description: Oyster reefs placed next to marshes help mitigate shoreline erosion in vulnerable areas along the coast. A polygon layer identifying all wetland areas in Louisiana was used to identify suitable areas 50 meters or less from marshes. Suitable areas were scored a 1 and all remaining areas were scored 0.
