Phytoplankton Biomass in the water column is an important indicator of ecosystem health.<br> This dataset shows the distribution of seagrass habitat with monitoring programs measuring Phytoplankton Biomass in terms of Chlorophyll a Concentration in the Gulf of Mexico. Monitoring data was compiled from various organizations. Please see sources for more information.<br> <b>Credits</b> Data used in this project was obtained from various sources and was compiled and analyzed in cooperation with The Ocean Conservancy and The Nature Conservancy.<br> Names and contact information for the monitoring programs that collect(ed) data on this indicator and included in this map are provided <a href="./docs/download/Seagrass_chlorophyll.xlsx"><b>here</b></a>.<br> <b>Use limitations</b> Users are encouraged to read and fully comprehend the metadata record prior to using these data. Please acknowledge the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and NatureServe as the data source for any products developed from these data. Users should be aware that comparison with other data sets for the same area may be inaccurate due to inconsistencies resulting from changes in mapping conventions, data collection techniques, and computer processes over time.
